Oman is a stunning country both below and above sea level. Beyond the colorful waters of Muscat lies a vast country to explore. From its beaches to its high plateaus, there are so many forts, isolated villages, pottery souqs, wadis, sand dunes and hidden date plantations to discover that you probably won’t have time to see them all in one trip!

Other than being a place of outstanding beauty, Oman is also a safe and fairly free country. There are no major concerns walking around on your own –even when visiting the souqs. (Don’t forget to bargain!)

There are no restrictions for foreign women regarding dress code, but it is definitely best to avoid very short skirts and overly generous décolletés!

The only restrictions apply when visiting mosques -in particular the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque- where both men and women must wear a long sleeved top and trousers (or skirt) to enter. Women will be asked to cover their head with a scarf.
