Bill’s Bumps, Fahal Island

    On the west side of Fahal Island, Bill’s Bumps starts beneath the mooring buoy at around 8 meters and gradually slopes down to 20 meters. The sandy bottom is scattered with boulders and coral encrusted rocks. At maximum depth, an eerie overhang provides shelter for rays, fusiliers and schooling goat fish. Towards the end of the dive a shallow coral garden teems with marine life and rounds the Southern point of the island towards the other side.

North Bay, Fahal Island

    On the North Eastern edge of Fahal Island, North Bay has a fine sandy bottom which attracts sting rays and is flanked by sloping soft coral gardens on both sides. Boulders create the backdrop of this dive site with schools of fish hovering in between. Maximum depth is 18 meters.

East Bay, Fahal Island

    With a maximum depth of 12/14 meters, East Bay boasts a swim through and a sandy bottom covered with coral encrusted rocks and boulders. Large schools of Indian mackerel sometimes swarm through this site momentarily obscuring the bottom from the sun.

Shallow Reef, Fahal Island

    Shallow Reef is situated out in the blue to the East of Fahal Island. Two huge boulders sit next to each other, rising up from 35 meters to 16 and 18 meters below the surface. The rocks, covered with brightly colored soft corals, attract a wide variety of marine life including nudibranches, moray eels and torpedo rays. The waters above the site are crowded with schools of snappers, fusiliers, mackerels, tuna and sometimes barracuda.
    Due to the nature of the dive site, divers who wish to explore it are required to hold at least an AOWD certification card.

Deep Reef, Fahal Island

    In Deep Reef, a single boulder –lightly covered in soft coral- rises up from 35 meters to 20 meters below the surface. The area often attracts large sting rays.

Seahorse Haze, Bandar Khayran

    Only a 15 to 20 minute ride by boat from our dive center, Seahorse Haze is a vast field of soft coral dotted with moral eels, lion fish and scorpion fish. The reef starts inside the bay at around 5 meters then stretches out into the sea and around the corner into a tiny cove on the bay’s right hand side. The coral garden dwindles in 12 meters then slopes down gently to 18 meters where the landscape is rocky interspersed with bright yellow coral.

Mambo’s Point, Bandar Khayran

    Mambo’s Point is the stretch of reef between Mermaid Cove and Seahorse Haze. The reef gently slopes from 5 to reach a maximum depth of 22 meters. The site it notorious for its rich soft coral popping up between the rocks and the wide variety of wildlife it attracts.

Mermaid Cove, Bandar Khayran

    Situated in the area of Bandar Khayran, Mermaid Cove starts in a shallow bay and gently slopes down to a maximum depth of 22m. At around 16 meters, the reef suddenly drops into a lovely soft coral wall. To the right hand side of the bay, a gorgeous soft coral garden springs up between the rocks attracting abundant fish and invertebrates for visitors to admire.

Purple Haze, Bandar Khayran

    Beside Mermaid Cove, Purple Haze is a long stretch of cascading reef covered in lavender soft coral. Maximum depth is 22 meters. To the South of the site, the predominant purple coral gives way to vibrant yellow soft coral for a change in backdrop to this natural aquarium.

Cockle Shell, Bandar Khayran

    The reef at Cockle Shell starts in 5 meters then slopes out of the bay where it reaches a maximum depth of 22m. In the deeper parts of the reef, bright soft coral and hard coral are scattered over a vertical landscape of rock and boulders. Large groupers are sometimes spotted in these waters. Around the corner, the sandy bottom slopes back up towards shallower waters where divers have been know to spot turtles, cuttlefish and even whale sharks!

Wall Street, Bandar Khayran

    On the Eastern side of Cockle Shell, Wall Street stretches underwater along the coastline of Bandar Khayran. The vertical landscape of this dive site -dotted with lavender soft coral- is home to many creatures including spiny lobsters, large honeycomb moray eels and minute nudibranches. Maximum depth is 22 meters.

Cave Site, Bandar Khayran

    In Cave Site, the reef slopes down from 6 meters underneath the mooring buoy to 20 meters at its maximum depth. A rich coral garden grows between the rocks and boulders of this site providing a home to anemones and their clown fish, moral eels, scorpion fish, lion fish and nudibranches. At the edge of the site a huge boulder rises up from 20 meters covered in soft coral. On its Northern side, a banded sea snake can sometimes be spotted.

Novice Bay, Bandar Khayran

    In Novice Bay, the reef starts in the bay and gently slopes down to 22 meters. Its shallow coral gardens are ideal for beginners and newly certified divers, while its rocky depths provide exciting exploring ground for amateur underwater photographers.

Al Munasir, Bandar Khayran

    A mere half an hour away from Oman Dive Center, Al Munasir was sunk by the Royal Navy of Oman in 2003 and is slowly developing into a beautiful dive site. This 3000 ton vessel -originally built in England- is 84 meters long and 14.5 meters wide. Still in one piece, the ship sits upright on the sandy bottom rising up from 26 / 30 meters to 6 meters below the surface. The site is a favorite for large schools of snapper and schooling goat fish.
    Divers who wish to explore the site to its maximum depth are required to hold at least an AOWD certification card.

Plug Point, Bandar Khayran

    Along the coastline opposite the Al Munasir wreck, Plug Point is notorious for the shallow soft coral island in its center. This luscious carpet of pastel corals is home to many marine creatures including the yellow mouth eel, the lion fish and the green turtle.

Turtle City, Bandar Khayran

    Stretching over three healthy coral gardens, Turtle City is a shallow dive site with a maximum depth of 18 meters and many opportunities to spot turtles along the way.

Paul’s Point, Bandar Khayran

    Paul’s Point is the last dive site on our map. The site’s rugged and rocky landscape attracts stingrays, bat fish and sometimes even sharks. Maximum depth is 22 meters.
